“As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew [that] if I didn’t leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I’d still be in prison.” – Nelson Mandela
To reclaim one’s dignity and heal oneself of past injuries requires great courage and compassion – it requires us to be able to forgive. Forgiveness liberates the soul and offers a new possibility for wholeness and inner peace. Please join us in an evening of reflection and conversation on forgiveness.
Facilitator Pratibha Daya coordinates activities of the Brahma Kumaris in South Africa from her home in Johannesburg. During the period of reconciliation that followed the end of apartheid, Pratibha refined a personal vision of a world where the dignity of every individual is upheld. She has presented the topic of forgiveness in a variety of settings, leading to an understanding that the reward of forgiveness is freedom, both for individuals and for nations.
